Episode 2

Carabella, unhappy college girl from Episode 3

Chapter 2 episode 3 of Networked is up and here!

This is where I began to screw around with panel structure and see if it’s possible to reinvent how composition of panels and you read them works on the internets. What makes comics comics and not just movies is panels, but once you post things online, you end up with motion and scrolling just because your looking at it in a browser. So now taking control of the work in Flash becomes the challenge, of really exploring things.

Mike Baron’s Badger

badger1

Perhaps three days after Carl Potts gave me my first job in comics I got a call from an even more mid-western guy then me. It was Mike Baron author of Badger the book then “I was born to draw”, or at least the book my dad changed his name to so I could draw. I eventually 15 years later got a script and did layouts and a couple of pages in Painter and the book died again and again. So the story lays incomplete.

The Score- Page 13

Watercolor close up

There are moments when you do something exactly right in your life and this panel is one of them. A clear composition, fitting into the storytelling and hitting a point of frustration for poor Phillip Sand. The problem is being able to pull apart what I did and repeat it over and over again in the context of telling different stories. That’s what makes comics so hard.
